Shipping Policy
Effective and Last Updated: July 24, 2026
This Shipping Policy summarizes Superior Seating LLC's shipping, delivery, receiving, and freight-claim procedures. It should be read together with our Terms of Use and Commercial Sales Policies. If this summary conflicts with the Terms or an applicable quote, order confirmation, or other Order Document, the controlling document identified in the Terms will apply.
IMPORTANT: Delivery and lead times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Standard LTL service is tailgate delivery only. The customer is responsible for providing receiving personnel, unloading equipment, inspecting the shipment, and documenting visible damage or shortages before signing the delivery receipt.

1. Lead Times and Tracking
Manufacturing, processing, ready-to-ship, ship-date, transit, and delivery timeframes are estimates unless an Order Document expressly states that a date is guaranteed. Lead times may be affected by material and upholstery availability, production capacity, order size, approvals, Customer's Own Material or Leather, supplier delays, holidays, weather, labor conditions, carrier schedules, customs, site restrictions, and the time between quote issuance and order acceptance.
Different items in the same order may have different manufacturing locations, lead times, and shipment dates. Orders may therefore ship in multiple shipments and arrive on different dates.
Transit within the contiguous United States commonly takes three to nine business days after shipment, but this is an estimate only. We generally send shipment confirmation and tracking information within 24 to 48 hours after shipment. Superior Seating LLC is not responsible for carrier delays outside our reasonable control after the shipment has been tendered to the carrier.
Rush processing or guaranteed carrier service may be available for an additional charge, but it is effective only when confirmed in writing.
2. Freight Quotes and Standard Delivery
Standard freight quotes are based on delivery to a commercial address that can be accessed by a full-size freight truck and has appropriate receiving personnel and, where needed, a loading dock. Standard quotes do not include liftgate, limited-access, inside delivery, special routing, narrow appointment windows, detention, reconsignment, redelivery, storage, weekend or holiday delivery, or other accessorial services unless expressly listed.
Most large orders ship by less-than-truckload ("LTL") common carrier. Standard service is tailgate delivery only. The carrier delivers the shipment to the rear of the truck at an accessible loading area. Drivers are not required to unload, move products inside, assemble products, remove packaging, or provide labor unless a separate service is confirmed in writing.
Superior Seating LLC does not currently provide inside delivery as a standard service.
3. Liftgate and Limited Access
Liftgate Service
A liftgate is recommended when the receiving location does not have a loading dock or forklift. A liftgate truck uses a mechanical platform to lower the shipment from the truck to ground level. Liftgate service does not include moving the products inside, unpacking, assembly, or disposal of packaging.

Limited-Access Locations
Limited-access charges may apply when a full-size freight truck cannot safely or legally access the site or when the carrier classifies the location as limited access. Examples may include hospitals, airports, farms, parks, schools, churches, hotels, military bases, construction sites, downtown areas, and other restricted locations. The carrier may make this determination at the time of delivery, which can result in additional charges after the order is placed.
4. Delivery Appointments and Receiving
Carrier appointments and delivery windows are estimates. Exact delivery times are not guaranteed. A narrower appointment window, weekend or holiday delivery, guaranteed service, prolonged waiting time, or delayed acceptance may require an additional fee. Standard freight delivery is generally Monday through Friday.
What do I need to do to receive my order?
- Provide accurate information: Give us the complete delivery address, contact information, receiving hours, dock status, access restrictions, construction conditions, security requirements, and requested delivery services before shipment.
- Have receiving personnel available: An authorized person must be present during the carrier's delivery window to inspect, count, sign for, and unload the shipment.
- Provide equipment and labor: Arrange sufficient labor and any forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, or other equipment needed to unload and move the products safely.
- Prepare the site: Make sure the location is accessible, open, safe, and ready to receive the shipment.
- Remove packaging: The customer is responsible for removing and disposing of packaging, wrapping, pallets, and other delivery debris unless a separate service states otherwise.
Common-carrier shipments require a signature. Superior Seating LLC does not authorize unattended freight delivery. If the customer instructs a carrier to leave freight without a signature or inspection, the customer assumes the associated risk to the extent permitted by law.
5. Additional Carrier Charges and Changes
Additional charges may apply for:
- Liftgate service for locations without a loading dock or forklift.
- Limited-access service for restricted or difficult-to-access locations.
- Restricted or time-specific delivery requiring a narrower delivery window or special appointment.
- Redelivery when delivery cannot be completed because of incorrect information, unavailable receiving personnel, refusal, or site conditions.
- Reconsignment or rerouting when the delivery address or destination changes after shipment.
- Detention or prolonged waiting time when the carrier is delayed beyond a reasonable unloading or receiving period.
- Storage, special equipment, weekend or holiday service, or other customer-requested accessorials.
- Guaranteed delivery service when available from the carrier and confirmed in writing.
The customer is responsible for carrier charges resulting from inaccurate or incomplete delivery information, undisclosed access limitations, unavailable receiving personnel, refusal or delay, address changes, reconsignment, redelivery, detention, storage, special equipment, or customer-requested services. Additional charges may be invoiced after delivery.
Contact Superior Seating LLC immediately to request an address or delivery-date change. Changes after shipment are often unavailable and may require carrier approval and additional fees. Do not attempt to reroute a shipment directly with the carrier. Refusing delivery without documented material freight damage does not cancel the order and may result in return freight, redelivery, storage, restocking, and other charges.
Please identify all delivery requirements when requesting a quote or placing an order so that we can provide the most accurate freight proposal possible.
6. Customer-Arranged Transportation and Pickup
Customer-Arranged Carriers
A customer may arrange its own carrier for pickup with Superior Seating LLC's approval. Once the products are tendered to the customer-selected carrier, the customer is responsible for transportation, insurance, delay, loss, and damage claims. Superior Seating LLC will reasonably cooperate with documentation requests but is not responsible for the acts or omissions of a carrier selected or controlled by the customer.
Freight Forwarders and Third-Party Receivers
If delivery is directed to a freight forwarder, third-party logistics provider, installer, or other intermediate receiver, the shipment must be inspected and any visible damage or shortage documented at that first delivery. Superior Seating LLC is not responsible for damage, shortage, loss, or material differences occurring after delivery to the forwarder or during onward transportation arranged by the customer.
Customer Pickup
Pickup may be available from designated Superior Seating LLC or supplier locations, depending on the order. Wait for written confirmation that the order is ready and follow the provided appointment, identification, vehicle, loading, and safety instructions. The customer is responsible for providing a suitable vehicle, restraints, protective materials, and labor. Inspect and count the products before leaving the pickup location and document any visible issue at that time.
7. Inspection, Damage, Shortages, and Claims
INSPECT AND COUNT THE SHIPMENT BEFORE SIGNING. Describe all visible damage or shortages specifically on the carrier's delivery receipt or bill of lading before the driver leaves. Keep a copy of the signed document.
Inspection at Delivery
Examine the cartons, wrapping, pallets, and visible products for punctures, crushing, tears, wetness, broken pallets, exposed merchandise, missing pieces, or other signs of damage. Do not sign a clean receipt when visible damage or a shortage exists.
If a complete inspection is not reasonably possible, note that the shipment was not fully inspected and is subject to inspection, if the carrier permits that notation. If cartons cannot be opened at delivery, sign the receipt as "subject to inspection for concealed damage" where permitted, then unpack and inspect the order promptly.
Report Issues Within 48 Hours
Notify Superior Seating LLC in writing within 48 hours after delivery of any freight damage, concealed damage, shortage, incorrect item, or apparent defect. Include the order number, affected item, delivery receipt, photographs of all sides of the product and packaging, shipping labels, and a description of the issue. Keep all original packaging, pallets, and materials until the claim is resolved.
Failure to document visible damage or shortage at delivery or to report an issue promptly may result in denial or reduction of a claim to the extent the delay affects investigation or carrier recovery. A signed clean delivery receipt is evidence that no visible damage or shortage was observed.
Claim Handling
Freight damage, shortages, incorrect shipments, and manufacturing defects are not ordinary returns. Do not discard, use, repair, alter, install, or return an affected product unless instructed. Depending on the validated claim, Superior Seating LLC may coordinate a carrier claim, provide parts, arrange repair, replace an item, issue a credit, authorize a return, or offer another reasonable resolution.
8. Delayed Receipt and Storage
If the customer is not ready to receive an order when it is ready to ship, Superior Seating LLC may attempt to accommodate a reasonable delay, subject to available space and operational limitations. Storage fees may apply after 30 days when the applicable rate or calculation method is disclosed in writing.
Orders that remain unclaimed or undeliverable for more than 90 days may be subject to continued storage, relocation, resale, or other remedies permitted by applicable law after reasonable written notice. The customer remains responsible for disclosed storage, handling, transportation, and other charges.
9. Cross-Border Shipments
For shipments into Canada or another approved cross-border destination, quoted freight may cover transportation only and may not include customs brokerage, duties, taxes, permits, or import fees. Unless an Order Document expressly states otherwise, these charges are the customer's responsibility. The customer may be required to provide a customs broker before shipment. Superior Seating LLC is not the importer of record and is not responsible for customs delays, inspections, or destination-country charges.
10. Product Sample Shipping
- Shipping carrier: Product samples, including available chairs, bar stools, table tops, and bases, generally ship by FedEx Ground.
- Delivery time: FedEx Ground commonly takes three to seven business days within the contiguous United States after shipment, but delivery times are not guaranteed.
- Damage: If the packaging is visibly damaged or product damage is suspected, document the condition, follow the carrier's instructions, and notify Superior Seating LLC promptly. Minor replacement parts may be offered where available, but replacement is not guaranteed.
- Transit responsibility: Superior Seating LLC is not responsible for damage caused solely during ground-carrier transit, except for a verified pre-shipment defect, Superior Seating LLC's packing error, or a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Returns and refunds: Product samples are non-returnable and non-refundable.
