Located at 627 Valley Road in Upper Montclair, New Jersey, Clementina introduces a modern Italian dining experience shaped by Mediterranean warmth, natural textures, and the culinary influence of Italy’s Adriatic Coast. Developed in collaboration with Italian-born Chef and Partner Michele Rocchi, the restaurant brings a refined but welcoming point of view to Montclair’s established dining scene.
The concept is built around a balance of old-world character and contemporary hospitality. Set inside a historic building with more than a century of local history, Clementina uses exposed brick arches, textured plaster walls, white oak tones, curved architectural details, olive trees, layered greenery, and soft sculptural lighting to create a dining room that feels calm, organic, and transportive.

The Challenge: Furnishing a New Italian Restaurant With Historic Character and Modern Warmth
Clementina’s interior is highly architectural. The exposed brick arches and original masonry bring texture, age, and permanence to the space, while the softer design elements—light wood, sculptural pendants, curved mirrors, olive trees, neutral plaster, and warm banquettes—create a more contemporary and calming hospitality atmosphere. The furniture needed to bridge both worlds.
Because Clementina is a new restaurant opening, the furniture also had to establish the guest experience from day one.
