Located in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey—inside the beautifully restored 1900s Woodbridge National Bank—Strickland’s Steakhouse balances Wall-Street-era grandeur with the laid-back comfort of a neighborhood chop house.

Guests dine on reclaimed ash table tops stained Antique Black, their wire-brushed grain contrasting exposed brick vault walls. Each top rests on matte-black metal bases that echo the restaurant’s original steel vault door—an homage to the building’s past.

Plush, custom-upholstered chairs in deep charcoal lend a refined edge while padded bar stools invite guests to linger over craft Manhattans. Under soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers, Strickland’s marries tradition, texture and hearty Mid-Atlantic hospitality—brought to life by Superior Seating’s commercial craftsmanship.

The Challenge: Classic Warmth in a Historic Bank

Transforming a former bank into a steakhouse meant working around marble floors, towering arched windows and an original vault. The design brief required furniture that felt heirloom-quality but could handle rib-eye-sized traffic.

  • Honor the architecture—dark stains, iron hardware and plank-style tops needed to complement brick and brass without looking theme-park retro.

  • Survive steak-house intensity—hot skillets, red-wine rings and nightly turnovers demanded heat-resistant finishes and industrial-grade bases.
