Italian Chophouse Restaurant Furniture Case Study: Lake Oconee
Custom Restaurant Furniture for Italian Hospitality and Modern Chophouse Service
Located on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Georgia, Italian Chophouse on Lake Oconee combines timeless Italian hospitality with the polished character of a contemporary steakhouse. Prime steaks, fresh seafood, Italian classics, wine, celebrations, and relaxed evenings all contribute to a concept designed to feel sophisticated without becoming overly formal.
Superior Seating supplied a layered furniture package built around that same balance. Rather than relying on one seating style throughout the restaurant, the project combines Lily dining chairs and bar stools, fully upholstered Stella seating, two distinct custom booth programs, black-stained solid beechwood table tops, and cast-iron pedestal bases. Each furniture family serves a different part of the floor plan while repeating black frames, dark table surfaces, warm upholstery, and tailored commercial details.

The interior provides a restrained architectural backdrop with dark millwork, black accents, warm tan walls, gray paneling, extensive wine storage, and clean contemporary lighting. Against that foundation, the furniture introduces controlled layers of texture and color. Upholstered seating softens the room, black tables create visual consistency, and custom booths establish more intimate hospitality zones.

The Challenge: Connecting Multiple Seating Zones
Italian Chophouse on Lake Oconee needed to accommodate several types of guest experiences within one restaurant. Standard tables had to work for couples and smaller parties. Long tables needed to support celebrations and group dinners. The bar required elevated seating, while booths needed to create privacy and comfort without making the room feel visually heavy.
The design challenge was therefore less about selecting a single chair and more about building one furniture language from several product families. Black became the visual anchor. Chair frames, bar stools, table tops, pedestal bases, and architectural accents repeat the dark tone, while customer-owned upholstery introduces personality through citrine, Dijon, charcoal, and warm neutral materials.
- Multiple seating formats: Dining chairs, bar stools, booths, and long-table arrangements had to feel related.
- Custom upholstery: COM fabrics were used to tailor individual seating zones to the interior.
- Guest flexibility: The furniture needed to support date nights, regular service, celebrations, and larger gatherings.
- Commercial consistency: Black frames, tops, and bases provide continuity despite changes in upholstery and seating silhouette.

The Solution: Custom Chairs, Booths & Bar Seating
The Lily collection provides a clean modern foundation. The Lily Modern Wood Restaurant Chair in Black Finish was specified with customer-owned upholstery, allowing its rounded back and upholstered seat to coordinate with the restaurant’s custom palette. At bar height, the project uses both custom Lily stools and a Lily Quick-Ship upholstered stool in black vinyl. Together, these pieces extend the same recognizable silhouette from the dining room into elevated seating areas.
The Stella chair and bar stool introduce a more tailored profile. Both use black frames with custom upholstery, while metallic nailhead detailing adds a subtle decorative layer. The dining chair uses chrome nailhead trim, while the corresponding bar stool uses brass detailing and a black footrest. These pieces work especially well where a more traditional chophouse character is desired.
Booths create two additional experiences. The Quilted Style Tufted Restaurant Booth was specified as a custom half-round configuration as well as an extended 168-inch single run, pairing Essence Dijon backs with Legacy Stallion custom seat material. The Linea Minimalist Open-Frame Restaurant Booth takes a lighter approach, with 48-inch single and double configurations, custom Fabric Guru back upholstery, Clarke Citrine seats, and finished rears.
The tables complete the program with black-stained Custom Solid Beechwood Premium Plank Table Tops paired with black cast-iron pedestal bases. Standard and bar-height versions allow the same dark table language to continue across both conventional and elevated seating areas.

The strength of the furniture package comes from repetition without uniformity. Black appears across chair frames, stools, table surfaces, pedestal bases, millwork, and architectural accents. That consistent foundation allows different upholstery materials and booth shapes to coexist without making the room feel fragmented.
Customer-owned material was particularly important. Instead of forcing every seat into one stock upholstery, individual areas could receive fabrics appropriate to their visual role. Citrine and Dijon introduce warmth, darker upholstery reinforces the chophouse atmosphere, and softer neutral textures balance the room’s black surfaces.
- Lily Seating: Modern black-frame restaurant chairs and stools with custom or black vinyl upholstery.
- Stella Seating: Fully upholstered dining and bar seating with tailored metallic nailhead accents.
- B525 Booths: Custom half-round and extended single configurations for statement seating and group hospitality.
- Linea Booths: Open-frame single and double booths that introduce color and comfort with less visual mass.
- Beechwood Tops: Solid wood restaurant table tops in a black stain for a consistent, evening-oriented palette.
- Pedestal Bases: Black commercial bases specified in both standard and bar heights.

Guest Experience
"Food was Excellent, service was superb, and the Atmosphere is top tier. You won't regret coming here. Ask for Haley as your waitress and Ryley as your bartender! We will return soon."

Operationally, the mix also gives the restaurant useful flexibility. Standard and bar-height bases extend one table-base style across different elevations. Custom booths make efficient use of fixed areas, while movable chairs and stools allow staff to respond to changing party sizes. The overall result is a furniture package designed not just for opening-day aesthetics, but for repeated restaurant service.
Furniture Inspiration & Moodboard
The Italian Chophouse on Lake Oconee moodboard combines black-stained wood, charcoal upholstery, citrine and Dijon accents, warm tan walls, gray architectural finishes, wine tones, glass, and soft metallic lighting. The palette connects two sides of the concept: Italian hospitality brings warmth and texture, while the chophouse influence introduces deeper tones, tailored upholstery, and confident black furniture.
